Welcome to my Menagerie! Over the years we've raised kitties, puppies, a guinea pig, and various fish. Most recently we "fostered" Jeremy's kitty for a couple months until he got a new apartment.

Reggie
REGGIE

Meet Reggie. He was born in April 2003 and adopted Jeremy as his owner.
Reggie came to live with us in December 2003 and visited for a couple months.
Reggie definitely stirred up the household! George and Pixie just weren't used to having a kitten around to torment them...and a male at that!!! By the time Reggie went back home, we thought they very well might have to be on Kitty Prozac!!! Unfortunately, Reggie came up missing several months later :( Let's hope that he either found another good home or a special place over the Rainbow Bridge!

GEORGE

Meet George. She doesn't normally like to have her picture taken, but I caught her on a good day! George was born in August 1994. Yes...I refer to George as a SHE...which she is :) Jeremy named her...knowing full well that she was a girl...but as he said, "She looks like a George!" So George she is!

Since we lost her best friend Keisha (see below), George has become quite affectionate. She will only climb on your lap, though, if she chooses to do so! And when she's done with you, off she goes! She has taken up a habit of sitting on the arm of the chair whenever I'm in it...facing backwards! She *MUST* sit with me whenever I have the laptop on my lap! George has never really meowed...She "talks" to you! It's hard to explain...you'd just have to hear it!

PIXIE

Meet Pixie. Pixie came to live with us in October 2000. She was about a year old. We're not sure her exact age...we adopted her from the Humane Society.

She has four white mitten paws and a curly-q tail (they say it must have been broken when she was a kitten and it grew crooked!) which gives her a lot of character.

She's quite frisky for a grown cat, but having Reggie around the house really took her down a peg or two...at least until he left, that is! Her funniest quirk is laying in the bathroom sink when you're trying to get ready for work in the morning...now she's a good size cat...and fills the sink completely! One of these days I will be able to get a picture of that! The only way to get her OUT of the sink is drip water on her...and sometimes that even takes a while!

KEISHA

1990-2000
And finally...but definitely by far not the least...is Keisha. I can't begin to tell you what Keisha has meant to me! I can't really say that she belonged to me...it was more that I belonged to her! We adopted her from the Humane Society, too, when she was just a kitten. We almost lost her when she was 6 months old from pneumonia and she laid on my chest all night long in one spot. But she pulled through!

I think in return, Keisha was MY nurse from then on. She had an uncanny sense when I wasn't feeling well, had a migraine, etc. and would not leave my side. We had her for about two years when I had foot surgery and was confined to a recliner for pretty much the entire day for about two weeks. When I would get myself situated in the chair in the morning, she laid on the back near my head and didn't budge until hours later when I would finally get myself up and to the bathroom. While I was taking care of my business, she would take care of hers! When I got back into the chair, she would be right there with me until either Bruce or Jeremy came home. Then I guess she would feel her shift was over and off she would go.

It was very difficult to put her to sleep, but she was much older than her 10 years and in a lot of pain. She was ready! But she will always be in my heart. I will never find another kitty to love me as much as she did!

That does it for our cat menagerie!
